May we introduce Josef Lorenz?
As our Quality Manager and Head of Quality Assurance, Josef ensures that you receive flawless and high-quality products. He is well-versed in standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
So let’s get to know him a little better.
Josef, can you tell us how you got into quality management?
After my apprenticeship as a toolmaker, I trained to become a mechanical engineering technician and quality manager. I worked with various Swiss suppliers in stamping and plastic injection molding, mainly in the automotive industry, focusing on quality management and assurance.
Since May 2023, I’ve been with EKKO Meister.
Can you describe a typical day for us?
There isn’t really a “typical” day.
Due to my role as a Quality Manager and my organizational responsibilities as Head of Quality Assurance, every workday is very different.
I’m also involved in various customer projects when new parts are being developed. So, the days go by quickly.
What do you like best about your job?
The variety of tasks.
I oversee the quality aspects of multiple customer projects. This involves checking and implementing new customer demands, standards, and regulations, which leads to a lot of contact with customers and suppliers.
We also continuously improve our management system to integrate new standards and requirements.
And lastly, I enjoy the day-to-day work as Head of Quality Assurance.
What do you think about the work environment at Ekko-Meister AG?
The work environment is really professional. Everyone is clear about their responsibilities and performs them well. The colleagues are incredibly friendly and helpful, which is a big plus for new team members.
We also keep things professional, respectful, and friendly with our customers, and they respond in kind.
How do you see the future of Ekko-Meister?
Our new premises and state-of-the-art infrastructure put us in a strong position.
Thanks to our IATF 16949 certificate, we already work with major companies in the automotive industry.
And with the ISO 13485 certification planned for fall 2024, we’ll be able to expand our presence in the medical sector.
We’re also proactive about key areas like environmental protection, sustainability, mobility changes, and data security to stay up-to date.
So, I’m confident we’ll tackle future challenges successfully.
